The NSS Unit of Saint Soldier International School, Sec 28 B, Chandigarh organised a 7 day NSS Camp which concluded on 19 December 2019. The main themes were ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’, ‘Save Water Save Life’ and ‘Prevent Drug Addiction’. The Camp was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. Jagwinder Pal Singh Hayer along with Principal Ms. Vijaya Sidhu wherein the volunteers presented various activities like Group Song, Poetry recitation and Skit on ‘Drug Addiction’. On the following days, a presentation on Save Water Save Life‘ was shown to the NSS students as an awareness programme. Further Dr. Seema Chauhan gave a talk on health awareness to make the students realise the importance of leading a healthy life. A yoga session was also organised for the volunteers to show the importance of fitness. Taking an initiative, NSS Volunteers carried out a Cleanliness Drive in the Village Hallomajra in which they sensitized the people about keeping the surroundings neat and clean. They also took out a rally on ‘Save Water, Save Life’ where the residents were taught about easy water conservation methods. Traffic Awareness Programme and Self Defence Training Programme were also organised for the students during the camp. The NSS volunteers also visited the Senior Citizens Home to interact with the elderly and spend some time with them.
The 7 Day Camp was an excellent learning experience for the NSS Wing students as it motivated them to work for the people and society on a whole under the motto ‘Not Me But You’.
