To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a Cycle Yatra was taken out by the students of Saint Soldier International School, Sec 28 B, Chandigarh to promote awareness among the residents of Sec 28, Chandigarh about the teachings of Gandhiji. The students accompanied by the teachers also spread information on the necessity to stop drug abuse and to improve cleanliness. They attracted the attention of the residents by their informative lectures and colourful posters.
Students of Class IX D organized the morning assembly by dedicating their presentation to the great leader. The assembly began with a prayer followed by a speech given by Simran to highlight the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings in the world of today. His views on the principle of Satyagraha, economic independence and superstitions were expressed strongly thorough the speech. Further, a poem was recited by Sahibjot to remember the moral values taught by him.
A skit was presented by the students on the theme ‘Gandhiji in the Eyes of Children’ to apprise the audience of the achievements of his life.
