It was a fun filled day for the students of St. Soldier International School, Sec 28 B, Chandigarh as their teachers presented a spectacular Morning Assembly to celebrate Children’s Day on 14 November 2018. The assembly commenced with the morning prayer conducted by the HODs followed by the thought of the day presented by Ms. Naina. Principal Ms. Vijaya Sidhu conveyed her good wishes to the students on this occasion.
Ms. Shyamali in her speech, threw light on the historical importance of the day and motivated the children to imbibe good values among themselves and become good citizens in future. The poem recited by Ms. Ritu highlighted the life of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and his contribution in India’s struggle for freedom. The group dance and giddha performance by the teachers enthralled the audience. The music teacher, Mr. Sukhpal gave a solo performance whereas a medley of songs was sung by teachers. A humorous skit staged by the male staff members and funny news updates of the school by Ms. Amrita left the spectators delighted. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the School Head Boy, Aryan.
In the Pre Primary Wing, students were made aware of the importance of Children’s Day through talks delivered by their respective class teachers. To make the day more joyful, these tiny tots were shown the movie ‘The Jungle Book’. Class I to III students too enjoyed various fun activities like antakshri, solo singing etc. They were shown a movie and also relished their party tiffins. Class IV and V students were also taken to the ground to enjoy their party tiffins. On the whole, the teachers made the day memorable for their students with their efforts and the children also showed their appreciation and gratitude for them with their continuous thundering applause.
