Glory at Inter School Competitions

Students of Saint Soldier International School, Sec 28 B, Chandigarh brought accolades to the school by winning various competitions held in different schools in the field of Arts and Sports. Davisha of Class VI made the school proud by securing first position in Poster Making Competition in a two day cultural fiesta, Kala Utsav, organised at Delhi Public School, Mohali while Yashita of Class VII got first prize in English Declamation. She spoke on ’Should India spend a large amount of money on Science and Technology’. Sweta Negi Class IX bagged consolation prize in the State Level Painting Competition organised by the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India at Tagore Theatre and was felicitated with a cash reward of Rs. 9500, a school bag, oil posters, a pouch and 3 CFL bulbs. Aditya and Davisha of Class VI and Simran Class IX were also rewarded with Rs. 2000 each for their participation in the competition. Inter School Rangoli Competition held at Government Model High School, Manimajra under the CBSE Hubs of Learning Programme was won by the school team of Mehak, Sanpreet, Sweta and Simran who exhibited their creativity through colours.

In Sports events Tushar Kapoor of XII Arts got Bronze Medal in Inter School Boxing Championship held at SD Public School, Chandigarh. Atul Malik of Class X won the gold medal in Shastrang Taekwondo held at Bal Bhawan, Sec 23, Chandigarh. The Football team (Boys) Under 17 and Under 19 categories, won third position in Inter School State Tournament which was held at Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sec 37 Chandigarh and Govt. Senior Secondary School, Sec 22 Chandigarh. In Chandigarh District Athletics Championship 2019-20 held in Sports Complex, Sec 7 Chandigarh, Yuvraj Class IX and Ashmit Class VIII bagged gold medal and bronze medal in 100 mts race. Vansh from Class X won gold medal in Shot put whereas Hitansh and Archita both from Class IX got silver medals. Navneet and Dimple Class X won gold and silver medals respectively in Long Jump. In 400 mts race Kashish and Rasleen from Class IX won silver and bronze medal respectively. Principal, Ms. Vijaya Sidhu congratulated the proud winners and extended her best wishes for their future endeavours.
