CBSE Workshop on Remodeled structure of Assessment for Secondary Classes: Building Awareness

Workshop on Building Awareness was organised by CBSE at CBSE Regional Office, Panchkula on 17 April 2018. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Neha Sharma, Deputy Secretary, CBSE. The session focused on the changed system of assessment pattern for secondary classes. The remodeled structure of assessment was discussed with focus on the periodic tests, subject enrichment activities and notebook submissions.

7th Elets School Leadership Summit

A school leadership summit was organised by Elets in association with Digital Learning at Homtel, Chandigarh on 28 April 2018. The summit provided significant insights into the latest teaching modules like E-books, E-library, Online Reference, Image Repository, Language Lab. Various aspects to build quality school education were discussed like school safety and security challenges and measures.

Our school was selected as one of the top schools across India by Digital I earning and was awarded at a ceremony held at Hometel, Chandigarh.

Workshop on Prevention and Control of vector and water borne diseases

Workshop on Prevention and Control of vector and water borne diseases was organised by Health Department. Chandigarh at Government Multispecialty Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh on 15 May 2018. The workshop was conducted to spread awareness about different vector borne diseases through school teachers of various schools with the objectives (i) Prevention of deaths due to malaria and dengue, (ii) Prevention of morbidity due to malaria and dengue with specific objectives to eliminate malaria from Chandigarh by 2020 and to reduce the incidence of Dengue and Chikungunya.

Workshop on Health Promoting Standards

A workshop was conducted on l8 May 2018 at Bhargava Auditorium, PGIMER by PGI School of Public Health, which focused on implementing a project on assessment for accreditation of schools as Health Promoting School (HPS) since 2016 for a period of 2.5 years.

The guidelines conveyed to maintain Public Health in School includes:

  • Keeping the trained staff to manage the cleanliness of not only the building. but also of the playground and the surroundings as well.
  • To avoid epidemics. insecticides should be sprayed in building. playground and in buses.
  • Students health should be foculiesd by enforcing healthy tiffin habits and regular exercise.
  • Evacuation should be done within 2-5 rnins and priority should be given to Blind / handicapped students.
  • financial and psychological support should be provided to the students with special needs.
  • Students and the school staff should actively participate in cleanliness drive, evacuation mock drills and first aid awareness.

Workshop on Policy for providing education to children with disabilities

Workshop to discuss Policy for providing education to children with disabilities as per direction of Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court was organisecl by Secretary Education. Chandigarh Administration on 5 July 20l8 at Post Graduate College for Girls, Sector 42, Chandigarh. Where the resource person Ms. Alka Mehta apprised the school heads of 2l disabilities like Blindness, Lori Vision, Leprosy cured persons, Hearing Impairment. Locomotor Disability, Mental Illness etc.

Chandigarh's Time Summit

The Times of India organised ‘It’s Chandigarh Time Summit’ on l0 July 2018 at Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh. The summit brought together the key decision makers of tricity to chalk out a blueprint for its future. It was a path breaking initiative taken up by The Times of India, where Panelists Sh. VP Singh Badnore (Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh), Capt. Amrinder Singh (Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab) and Sh. Manohar Lal Khatter (Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana) were present on a single forum to visualize a city of the Future.
