Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28-B, Chandigarh, successfully organised a Seven-Day Special NSS Camp on the theme ‘Colours of Culture & Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, with the objective of nurturing discipline, social responsibility, environmental consciousness, leadership qualities, and the spirit of selfless service among students.

The camp commenced with an orientation session familiarising volunteers with the aims and motto of NSS, ‘Not Me, But You’, along with guidelines and the code of conduct. A major highlight of the camp was the Cleanliness Drive, during which NSS volunteers actively cleaned the school campus and surrounding areas. Students collected waste, segregated dry and wet garbage, and sensitised people about hygiene, cleanliness, and responsible waste disposal, thereby reinforcing the message of Swachh Bharat through hands-on service.

To enhance awareness and life skills, a First Aid Awareness session was conducted by Dr. Indu to equip students with basic knowledge of handling minor injuries and emergency situations. Environmental awareness activities, including a Tree Plantation Drive and creative tasks such as slogan writing and poster making, encouraged students to understand the importance of protecting nature.

The camp also featured a Road Safety Awareness Programme conducted by the Chandigarh Traffic Police, educating students about traffic rules and safe road behaviour. The week concluded with a valedictory ceremony and cultural programme, where NSS volunteers showcased India’s rich cultural diversity through vibrant Punjabi and Rajasthani folk dances and a melodious group song reflecting unity and social harmony. The programme was graced by the Director Mr. Jagwinder Pal Hayer, School Adviser Mrs. Vijaya Sidhu, and Principal Mrs. Anisha Ghuman. Certificates were awarded to volunteers, marking the successful conclusion of a meaningful and enriching camp.
