Patriotic Fervour

Saluting the spirit of patriotism, the 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour at Saint Soldier International School, Sec 28 B, Chandigarh. A melange of patriotic activities presented by the students tinged the air with devoted passion. Chief Guest, Chairman Mr. Ravinder Pal Singh Hayer unfurled the National Flag. Director Mr. Jagwinder Pal Singh Hayer and Principal Ms. Vijaya Sidhu graced the occasion. The NCC Wing along with the school band presented a beautiful parade. Scintillating dances were presented by students. The song ‘Vande Matram’ presented by a group of 50 students added to the patriotic spirit. Students of Classes V to VIII recited cherishable poems. A skit showcasing the contribution of women along with men to attain freedom even at the cost of their lives was beautifully presented by students in colourful attire. A melodious song ‘Ae Vatan, Vatan Mere’ was sung by the teachers.

The whole week’s activities were a run up to Independence Day Celebrations. The students came dressed in vibrant tricolour accessories. Class IV presented a skit on ‘Azadi Ki Kahani’. The students of KG also portrayed some famous personalities, speaking some lines depicting their character. Class teachers interacted with their classes on the value and significance of Independence Day.
