The 2nd St. Soldier Lawn Tennis Tournament, a three-day inter-school annual event organised by Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28, Chandigarh, began with great enthusiasm and participation from 13 schools across the Tricity. The tournament was inaugurated by the school Chairman, Mr. Ravinder Pal Singh accompanied by Director, Mr. Jagwinder Pal Singh, Adviser, Ms. Vijaya Sidhu, and Principal, Ms. Anisha Ghuman who extended blessings and encouraged the players to play with passion and sportsmanship. The matches of Day 1 unfolded with high energy, precision, and remarkable displays of talent. In the first match, St. Stephen’s School, Sector 45, Chandigarh, registered a 3–1 win over Saupin’s School, Sector 32, Chandigarh, as Samarth beat Bhumik 6–2, Vyan lost to Kanav 3–6, and in doubles, Samarth and Vyan defeated Bhumik and Kanav 6–4. In the second match, St. Soldier School, Panchkula, displayed fine form, defeating Strawberry Fields School, Sector 26, Chandigarh, by 2–0, with confident wins by Tanishk over Yashvir (6–1) and Sumohit over Kritya (6–2). In the third match, Vivek High School, Sector 38, Chandigarh, triumphed 2–0 against St. John’s High School, as Shubh beat Abhiraj by 7–6 in a thrilling tie-break (7–5) and Kabir defeated Aarav (6–2). In the fourth match between KB DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 7, Chandigarh and Chitkara International School, Sector 25, Chandigarh, Ayaan beat Siddharth 6–0, while KB DAV’s Kartikay lost to Aarav 1–6; in the doubles match, with a player change, Ayaan and Kshitij defeated Siddharth and Aarav, giving KB DAV a 3–1 win. In the final match of the day, Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, Chandigarh, showcased outstanding consistency, overpowering Banyan Tree School, Sector 48, Chandigarh by 2–0 through dominant performances as Kanveer beat Rivaan 6–0 and Jasraj beat Bhavesh 6–0. The tournament will continue to witness exciting encounters and culminate on 16 October 2025, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship and excellence.
