Special Assembly on United India
Celebrating the beauty of togetherness and capturing the quintessence of Unity in Diversity, students from Class VIII D of St. Soldier International School, Sector 28 B, Chandigarh presented their Special Assembly on `United India’. The assembly started with the morning prayer followed by news headlines and the thought for the day.
The skit was very well presented depicting characters belonging to different cultures and religions who had come to learn English in an institution. During the learning process the feeling of pride for their own state, culture and language and a feeling of malice and ill will for each other was very prominent but this later on changed to a feeling of togetherness for each other when they all witnessed a cricket match and felt proud of their nationality and country when India won the match. With this message, the students stressed that cultural differences should not separate us from each other, but should bring a collective strength that can benefit all humanity.
The highlights of the assembly were also the presentation of three beautiful dance performances encompassing a vibrant display of colours, cultural heritage of different states, festivity and nationalism showcasing the states of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The aim of the presentation was to foster in the children, an understanding that the entire humanity is one family, irrespective of geographical, racial or linguistic barriers. The students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.
