Workshop by Smile Foundation

To sensitize the young generation on the qualities of empathy and significance of hard work in life, NGO ‘Smile Foundation’ Chandigarh conducted a workshop for the students of Class VII of Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28 B, Chandigarh. The motivational film ‘I am Kalam’ was shown to the pupils during this workshop. The film is the story of a boy who derives inspiration from the former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He then decides to change his name to Kalam and harbours a dream of meeting his idol. The film depicts the hardships and determination of the poor boy. Mr. Vineet Marwaha, Assistant Director, CFC (Children For Children) of Smile Foundation interacted with the students after the film. He asked students what inspired them in the film and what qualities they observed in the child actor. He motivated them to work hard and concentrate on their aim in life with full determination. The Mission Education project of Smile Foundation imparts education to underprivileged children of Chandigarh. This programme benefits over 300 impoverished children by providing education, basic healthcare and nutritional support.
