CBSE Workshop on Remodeled structure of Assessment for Secondary Classes: Building Awareness

Workshop on Building Awareness was organised by CBSE at CBSE Regional Office, Panchkula on 17 April 2018. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Neha Sharma, Deputy Secretary, CBSE. The session focused on the changed system of assessment pattern for secondary classes. The remodeled structure of assessment was discussed with focus on the periodic tests, subject enrichment activities and notebook submissions.

7th Elets School Leadership Summit

A school leadership summit was organised by Elets in association with Digital Learning at Homtel, Chandigarh on 28 April 2018. The summit provided significant insights into the latest teaching modules like E-books, E-library, Online Reference, Image Repository, Language Lab. Various aspects to build quality school education were discussed like school safety and security challenges and measures.

Our school was selected as one of the top schools across India by Digital I earning and was awarded at a ceremony held at Hometel, Chandigarh.

Workshop on Prevention and Control of vector and water borne diseases

Workshop on Prevention and Control of vector and water borne diseases was organised by Health Department. Chandigarh at Government Multispecialty Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh on 15 May 2018. The workshop was conducted to spread awareness about different vector borne diseases through school teachers of various schools with the objectives (i) Prevention of deaths due to malaria and dengue, (ii) Prevention of morbidity due to malaria and dengue with specific objectives to eliminate malaria from Chandigarh by 2020 and to reduce the incidence of Dengue and Chikungunya.

Workshop on Health Promoting Standards

A workshop was conducted on l8 May 2018 at Bhargava Auditorium, PGIMER by PGI School of Public Health, which focused on implementing a project on assessment for accreditation of schools as Health Promoting School (HPS) since 2016 for a period of 2.5 years.

The guidelines conveyed to maintain Public Health in School includes:

  • Keeping the trained staff to manage the cleanliness of not only the building. but also of the playground and the surroundings as well.
  • To avoid epidemics. insecticides should be sprayed in building. playground and in buses.
  • Students health should be foculiesd by enforcing healthy tiffin habits and regular exercise.
  • Evacuation should be done within 2-5 rnins and priority should be given to Blind / handicapped students.
  • financial and psychological support should be provided to the students with special needs.
  • Students and the school staff should actively participate in cleanliness drive, evacuation mock drills and first aid awareness.

Workshop on Policy for providing education to children with disabilities

Workshop to discuss Policy for providing education to children with disabilities as per direction of Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court was organisecl by Secretary Education. Chandigarh Administration on 5 July 20l8 at Post Graduate College for Girls, Sector 42, Chandigarh. Where the resource person Ms. Alka Mehta apprised the school heads of 2l disabilities like Blindness, Lori Vision, Leprosy cured persons, Hearing Impairment. Locomotor Disability, Mental Illness etc.

Chandigarh's Time Summit

The Times of India organised ‘It’s Chandigarh Time Summit’ on l0 July 2018 at Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh. The summit brought together the key decision makers of tricity to chalk out a blueprint for its future. It was a path breaking initiative taken up by The Times of India, where Panelists Sh. VP Singh Badnore (Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh), Capt. Amrinder Singh (Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab) and Sh. Manohar Lal Khatter (Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana) were present on a single forum to visualize a city of the Future.

Workshop on Cosmetic Gynecology by Times of India and Touch Clinic

A workshop on ‘Cosmetic Gynecology’ was organised by Times of India and Touch Clinic, Mohali on 21 July 2018 at Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh. The resource person for the workshop were Dr. Preet Jindal and Dr. Prabjot Kaur. In workshop participants were made aware about Women’s Health issues. The resource person had also suggested some exercises for women.

Workshop on Classroom Management by CBSE

A two day workshop on Classroom Management was organised by CBSE at New Public School, Sector 18, Chandigarh on 27 July and 28 July 2018. The resource persons for the workshop were Ms. Inderjeet Sandhu and Ms. Aruna Bhardwaj. Discussion and group activities were conducted on the following topics:

  • Meaning of Classroom Management
  • Factors affecting Classroom Management
  • Importance of Classroom Management
  • Principles and components of Classroom Management
  • Physical arrangement in the Classroom
  • Teaching Style.

Training Programme for Eco Clubs by Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration

Training Programme for Eco Clubs was organised by Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration along with Yuvsatta NGO on 2 August 2018 at New Public School, Sector 18, Chandigarh. Workshop was based on awareness among school students for environmental balance. How all aspects of environment are interlinked and dependent on each other? In order to promote connectivity with nature, Chandigarh Administration has introduced ‘City Forest or Nagar Ban’ near Sukhna Lake and in Butterfly Park, Sector 26, Chandigarh where children can see number of species of insects.

Stress Management Workshop by The Tribune

Stress Management workshop was organised for teachers by The Tribune at Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28 B, Chandigarh. The resource person Mr. Tarun from The Tribune explained the causes and remedies of stress among teachers at workplace and personal level.

Karo Sambhav School Programme

Karo Sambhav School Programme was organised by Pahal Organisation on 31 August 2018 at NITTTR, Sector 26, Chandigarh. It was based on management of E-waste. Aim of the workshop was to sensitize us regarding various issues of E-waste management.

Workshop on Climate Change and Sustainable Development by TERI University

A workshop on Climate Change and Sustainable Development was organised by TERI University at Learning Path School, Mohali on 28 September 2018. Ms. Supriya Gulati from TERI University addressed the students about climate change, sustainable development and Agenda 2030 i.e. achieving 169 targets by accomplishing all 17 goals. She talked about Earth Shootout Days. She also talked about Climate Jamboree 2018 a programme to be held at Tyagraj Stadium, New Delhi from 1 November to 3 November 2018 on Climate Change.

Workshop for conducting the Painting Competition in schools by BBMB

A workshop for conducting the Painting Competition in schools was organised by Bhakra Beas Management Board at BBMB Rest House, Sector 35 B, Chandigarh on 8 October 2018. The workshop was graced by Mr. Ravinder Sharma a renowned artist. He demonstrated about the various art form and explained very useful techniques to perform them. The art form explained by him includes Poster, Pastel and Fabric Colour. He also explained which type of brush strokes used in these art forms.

Workshop on World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is celebrated on 10 October 2018 every year. In view of this an initiative was taken by CCPCR and a workshop was organised at Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, Chandigarh on 9 October 2018. The key area of the workshop was to discuss and explain the effects of internet usage specially cybercrime and momo challenge with the focus on current scenario.

Swayam Self Defence Training

Swayam Self Defence Training Team had conducted Self Defence Training session in our school for students of Class VI and VII. In this session students were taught various self defence techniques and how to make yourself mentally and physical strong.

Workshop on Child Friendly Schools and Homes by Department of Pediatrics, PGIMER

A workshop on Child Friendly Schools and Homes was organised by Department of Pediatrics, PGIMER, Chandigarh on 12 October 2018. The main points discussed in the workshop was to create awareness how to provide child friendly environment for their physical and mental growth, along with the importance of the role of each and every individual in a child’s life.

Excellence Awards Ceremony

The Principal’s Meet was organised by The Tribune Group in collaboration with Chandigarh University, was an occasion to brainstorm and exchange ideas on the state of education to meet future challenges.

The objective of the workshop was how to plan creative activities to clear concepts of Maths for Class I to V. The resource person Dr. Aditi Singhal explained some shortcut techniques.
