World Earth Day

Saint Soldier International School, Sec 28 B, Chandigarh celebrated Earth Day with a myriad of eco friendly activities. To commemorate the day, the students of NSS Wing covered the whole campus carrying posters on this year’s theme ‘Protect Our Species’. The students of Class V B conducted the morning assembly to demonstrate their support for environmental protection. The programme started with a thought shared by Aryan Sharma followed by interesting facts on environment by Anukalp Pandey. A speech highlighting the increasing climate change, plastic pollution and extinction of many species was presented by Chavi. Through a captivating skit on global warming, the students exhibited their love and concern for mother earth. Ms. Poonam Sharma, the Social Science teacher made the students aware about the present environmental conditions through an informative talk. To raise awareness about the existing environmental crisis, a video presentation on Earth Day, featuring its history and theme was organised by Eco Club Head Ms. Ghanshikha. The students vowed to ensure minimal use of plastics and to plant more and more trees in their vicinity. The Pre Primary Wing also celebrated Earth Day with a nature walk activity around the School campus where the little ones were shown different plants, trees, herbs, shrubs and blooming flowers.
